For two decades, Federico has advised and represented clients in disputes and critical situations, particularly where constitutional, administrative, and commercial dimensions converge.
He has led constitutional and administrative challenges of significant public consequence, securing precedents favorable to his clients and, in some cases, to entire industries. His day-to-day practice covers complex civil & commercial disputes, in court and in arbitration, arising from shareholder conflicts, corporate and financial transactions, and contract and tort liability.
His work neither begins nor ends in the courtroom. He advises companies, public entities, industry associations, boards of directors, and other decision-making bodies facing emerging conflicts, sensitive decisions, and situations of legal or institutional exposure. His role is to identify what is truly at stake, anticipate consequences, and define a position before deciding whether, how, and where to act.
In the critical matters he leads, he develops strategies that integrate multiple legal disciplines and regularly coordinates the work of technical experts, communications advisors, and other specialized teams, addressing the legal, commercial, institutional, and reputational dimensions of the problem as one.
His practice follows a structured discipline: isolate the real issues, map the full legal, procedural, institutional, and commercial landscape, construct the strongest position, and stress-test it. He remains directly involved in every significant strategic decision in the matters he leads. Having served as counsel and arbitrator in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, he understands how tribunals weigh evidence and argument.

Federico holds an LL.M. from the University of Chicago Law School and the Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, which he completed in Oxford. He is a Fellow of the Institute (FCIArb). He has taught at Mexico’s leading law schools at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He serves on the National Board of ANADE — Mexico’s national association of corporate lawyers — where he chairs its Rule of Law Commission.

Mirem’s practice centers on corporate disputes. She advises clients on shareholder conflicts, on the validity and effectiveness of corporate acts, and on disputes arising from financial operations and corporate transactions, as well as on negotiations of particular complexity.
Her background is entirely transactional and corporate. In a firm devoted to disputes, that perspective serves a critical function: understanding the structure, the documents, and the business logic of a transaction — before it becomes a dispute, and while it is one. The complex matters the firm handles pass through that lens.
She practiced at Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes and at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in New York. She joined MARTENS in 2016. As Managing Partner, she leads the firm’s internal organization.
She holds a master’s degree in corporate and financial law from Northwestern University, awarded cum laude with academic distinction, and earned her law degree at Universidad Iberoamericana.

Luis represents Mexican and international companies, across a range of industries, in commercial, administrative, and constitutional litigation.
His practice covers contract disputes, litigation arising from financial and corporate transactions, insurance disputes, and the litigation that follows critical incidents in a company’s operations. He has led a substantial number of damages disputes, acting for defendants and plaintiffs alike, and has closely studied the reception of punitive damages in Mexican law. On the administrative and constitutional side, he handles amparo proceedings and administrative litigation in tax, environmental, financial, and intellectual property matters.
He leads the strategy of sensitive matters and coordinates the teams involved in them, from initial framing through execution in court, with meticulous command of the facts, documents, and procedural detail on which a client’s position is built — and defended. Before devoting himself fully to litigation, he practiced as an associate at transactional firms; that substantive grounding underpins the advice he gives on conflicts that have not yet reached the courts — and the way he leads those that do. He joined MARTENS in 2016.

Daniel is a litigator in the fullest sense: he sets the strategy, appears in court, leads hearings, and argues the case before the judges and tribunals charged with deciding it. He represents Mexican and international companies, public entities, and shareholders.
His practice focuses on complex civil, commercial, and corporate disputes: shareholder conflicts, contractual claims, insolvency proceedings (concursos mercantiles), and civil liability matters with critical consequences for the businesses involved. He also litigates in the administrative arena — against public authorities and in their defense — including disputes arising from public procurement.
He has developed particular experience in matters whose scale or sensitivity demand an immediate response and command of every detail. He has built his entire career at MARTENS: he joined the firm eight years ago, advanced through every stage of its practice, and became a partner in 2026. His appointment reflects a defining conviction of the firm: those who will lead it should be formed within it.

Valeria represents Mexican and international clients in amparo proceedings, administrative litigation, and disputes in regulated sectors: energy, financial services, public procurement, technology, and infrastructure.
Before entering private practice, she served as Secretaria de Estudio y Cuenta — judicial law clerk — at Mexico’s Supreme Court of Justice, where she worked on the analysis and drafting of judgments for the Full Court and the First Chamber in matters of constitutional significance. She knows, from the inside, how the country’s highest court studies and decides the cases she now litigates before it.
In designing litigation strategy, she brings a human rights perspective to the analysis of complex legal problems. She joined MARTENS in 2024.
She earned her law degree from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), where she completed the Specialization Program in Administrative Law and served as adjunct professor of Administrative Procedural Law. She has helped train international litigation teams that have earned recognition in specialized moot court competitions.

He acts for plaintiffs, defendants, and third parties, and handles disputes involving multiple parties and complex interests. His practice has been shaped in the courtroom: he has conducted numerous hearings and coordinates the teams involved in the proceedings under his responsibility, working with method and rigor over every piece of the record.
He is the author of “El concurso mercantil en México,” published in Praxis Legal (Bosch México, 2023).

Fernando litigates civil and commercial disputes, as well as insolvency proceedings (concursos mercantiles), for Mexican and international clients across a wide range of industries.
He assists clients in contractual disputes, civil liability claims, and restructuring and insolvency processes. He develops case strategy, coordinates the teams involved, and conducts oral hearings, decisively defending his clients’ interests — before counterparties and in court. He is a student of procedure: its rules, its timing, and its possibilities are a discipline he works with particular rigor.
His formation as a litigator began early: from 2018 to 2023 he practiced at ITAM’s Centro de Acceso a la Justicia, the Institute’s pro bono legal clinic, where he coordinated the civil and family litigation area and supervised free legal representation for people without means.
He earned his law degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). He joined MARTENS in 2023.
